Rubik’s Cube Patterns

There are many patterns that you are able to do on the Rubik’s Cube once it is solved. Many of the more common patterns include:

  • Checker Board
  • Bulls-Eye or Flower
  • Checkered Bull’s Eye
  • Stripes
  • Letters

And so on and so forth. Right now, I will teach you the Checkerboard, probably the most easy of anything. To start, make sure you have your completed cube in front of you with the white facing up and a different color facing you. For example purposes, we will use red.

The side that is facing you, and the side opposite it, should be turned twice. In this example, two yellow stripes should on the white side now.

Now, the top, the white side, and the bottom should be turned twice. The red side should have two orange stripes on it.

Finally, the right and the left side should be turned twice as well. After this, you should have a checkerboard. For people that know notation of the cube, here is the formula:

F2 B2(Back) U2 D2 R2 L2.
