Rubik’s Cube: Fingers vs. Wrists

I was taught this multiple times but never really got the meaning. I was taught and I learned that when solving the cube you should not use your wrists but instead, your fingers. Now, I’m like what????? I had no idea what that meant. Like, do not move your wrists, only move your fingers. Ok. makes sense. But I have small fingers. Now what?
Well, I got over this problem by slowly watching my hands do the cube and see if I use my wrists. Sure enough, I did. I saw I was using my wrists because when I would twist the cube, I would see my palms do a 180, then back down. After much practice, I stopped using my wrists, and started using more of my fingers. I still use my wrists, but less and less each day. By using a siliconed cube, (one that moves quickly and is sprayed with silicon,) it is easier to accomplish this.
The benefits of using your fingers are
- The cube will move much faster therefore helping speedcubing
- Wrists will be sore as often
- Fingers get exercise
Pretty good deal.
That’s it for now. Upcoming I will be talking about SpeecCubing so check back daily.
