Lubricating Your Cube

I have mentioned this multiple times and I am finally getting to it. Lubricating, or oiling, your cube is when you take lubrication or some sort of oil and spray it onto the central mechanism. Yikes!

Lubricating your cube will make it significantly faster moving and will, no doubt WILL, decrease your time by a few seconds. I highly recommend doing this to any cuber because it will make everything a whole lot easier especially if your cube does not spin well. It is very easy to do. Here are the directions:

1. Buy some lubrication.
a. You can buy this at any of your local hardware stores. Make sure it has a spray tube.
2. Attach the spray tube.
3. Turn the cube a half turn.
4. Lift the corner a little bit. Not too much because you may break the piece off.
5. Insert the spray tube into the small hole created so the tube hits the central square, or mechanism.
6. Give it two short spritzs, sprays.

And there you go! At first, the lubrication may seem like glue, but after working with it for about 60 seconds everything will be smooth. The ironic thing is you may not feel it getting faster because you are working with it and getting used to it. But everything should be fine.

Enjoy!

Oh, I beg to differ. I have just recently disassembled my cube to silicone it, and yes, it does work better to disassemble, but, I assure you, it works just as well without disassembling. This way is for the less handy-man or someone who just doesn’t want to go with the mess of disassembling. Thank you for your opinion.
